One knows very well that sitting through four hours of Hamlet will not make them want to see more plays by the Bard. They are only going to the theatre to see their idols and to have material relating to the TV series signed by them... except that the RSC has forbidden the actors to autograph anything but programmes for Hamlet. There must be some frustrated fans out there.Belahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16935284724145788208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14028331.post-16308326433023151952008-08-19T19:48:00.000+01:002008-08-19T19:48:00.000+01:00Does it really matter what gets people to see Shak...Does it really matter what gets people to see Shakespeare? I remember high school (what a long time ago that was) and absolutely hating Shakespear because we had to read it. And then one summer I was dragged by a friend to Shakespeare in the Park (Central Park, NY free festival then) and there was TV actor in it I adored. I don't remember his name but I remember Coriolanus and I was hooked.

And Leonard Cohen is 74? Wow I'm old.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14028331.post-75351717852013454282008-08-11T16:40:00.000+01:002008-08-11T16:40:00.000+01:00Go on, go on. I want it too!Go on, go on. I'll consider it.

All I can say is: you have been spared an awful lot of very bad - mostly because boring - performances from that man. That was indeed a great A&C (one of the best I've seen).Belahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16935284724145788208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14028331.post-42855327481450979502008-08-11T10:40:00.000+01:002008-08-11T10:40:00.000+01:00Well, I think we need the Patrick Stewart story......Well, I think we need the Patrick Stewart story...

The ONLY thing I've seen him in was Antony and Cleopatra and I thought he was quite wonderful.GreatSheElephanthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06589100964804729527noreply@blogger.com
