Not a happy bunny

I was all right this morning – I woke up in a fairly good mood – and then I opened the one envelope that was lying by my front door. And that was it!

‘It’s time to think about claiming your state pension,’ it said. Three and a half months before I even want to begin to think how old I am. I keep telling those people I am 27, but they refuse to listen.

Anyway, do not speak to me today! I will not answer you.

Slapping my parents for having me 33 years too early.

  3. Not quite, RG; I now have to phone someone and discuss the whole thing with them. Blech!

  4. I promise you it's not that bad once it's happening, Bela. First you get your amazing travel passes, your winter fu..ooo..el allowance, and so on, and then, you could be like me and have your pension on top of your salary. I am now really rich for the first time in my life! A black instead of a red bank account has been such a novelty. And to make it all bearable I had a big birthday bash which can be quite an affirming thing. Go for it.

  5. What salary, Q? I'm a freelance translator earning peanuts. Whatever I'm going to get from the state won't make me rich, that's for sure.

I would be more excited about getting a free travel pass if public transport was actually efficient and reliable. Still, it's better than nothing.

I'm not sure I want to celebrate this 'special' birthday. Everybody I know is younger than me. :-(

    You have good taste, Q.

  7. I'm not knocking it, TLP. I'm just dismayed by it. :-(
